Every week we pick out a few numbers that are so significant we have to give them a second look. Today we’re looking at key figures from Porsche, Volkswagen, and more.
700The horsepower rating of the Brabham BT62. That’s thanks to a 5.4-liter V8 engine, which also delivers 492 pound-feet of torque. The BT62, of which 70 will be built for a cool $1.35 million apiece, is a new track-only supercar named for the late Australian Grand Prix champion Jack Brabham.
27The all-electric driving range, in miles, of the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. The new plug-in model has a 455-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, a 14.1-kilowatt-hour battery, and a 134-hp electric motor. With all-wheel drive, the hybrid Cayenne will rocket to 60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds. It will cost $79,900 before destination and options.
610The amount of torque, in pound-feet, delivered by the 2018 Roush JackHammer. The tuners at Roush bolt a supercharger on the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 to up output to 710 hp and 610 lb-ft. The package starts at $14,795, and Roush will build only 200 units.
164The top speed of the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR special edition. It’ll be the fastest factory-baked Golf GTI ever, and it’s inspired by the TCR racing model. It will make its full debut on May 9 during the annual GTI meeting at Wörthersee. Power ratings come in at 286 hp and 274 lb-ft.
